Your hosts Sadie Beyl and Emily Thiroux Threatt are thrilled to announce the 4th From Mourning to Light online grief summit.

This free event takes place from 17 – 27 Jan 2024 and explores the magic that happens when someone you love dies. Sadie and Emily have interviewed 23 diverse speakers and authors so that you can (from the comfort of your own home) learn from a diverse selection of people who have been where you are now and they can’t wait to share the wisdom they’ve gained from their experiences with you.

How it works:

WHAT: Two, 30 minute interviews will be sent to your inbox every day for 11 consecutive days

WHEN: 17 – 27 January 2024

HOW LONG: The interviews will be available to view for the duration of the event. At the end of the event you will have the opportunity to catch up on, or re-watch them, until the end of January.

This summit consists of informal conversations that demonstrate the multiple and diverse ways people are able to rebuild their lives in meaningful and unique ways after having experienced the death of their loved ones.

Meet your hosts:

Sadie Beyl is the founder of the From Mourning to Light online grief summits. This is the fourth event. Sadie was a professional architect who ran a small practice in Cape Town with her architect husband, Paul Beyl. After Paul died in a motorcycle accident in 2019, Sadie sold her car, packed a suitcase and moved to Italy. Besides the From Mourning to Light grief summits, Sadie is a spiritual grief guide who assists those in grief with her 10 Week Transformation Workshop, meditation, mindfulness, Angel card readings and past life regression sessions.

Emily Thiroux Threatt is an award winning author of the books, Loving and Living Your Way Through Grief: A Comprehensive Guide to Reclaiming and Cultivating Joy and Carrying on in the Face of Loss, The Grief and Happiness Handbook: A Supportive Guide to Help you Reclaim your Life After Grieving. She has also created The Grief and Happiness Cards, each card is carefully crafted with a gentle and supportive message.

In addition to writing her book to provide comfort and support to people dealing with grief and loss, she also founded the Grief and Happiness Alliance which meets weekly on Zoom to write together and do happiness practices all at no charge. She is the host of the Grief and Happiness weekly podcast. And she is a Happy For No Reason certified trainer. Emily has much experience in the grieving process including for the death of two husbands and has learned to face life with love, optimism, and joy.

Reverend Richard Carlini

Reverend Richard Carlini is an ordained Unity minister and currently serves the Unity congregation in Davis, CA.  He is also the senior minister of an alternative ministry, Transform Myself Inc., A Unity Ministry. Richard was the co-host of The Healing Power of Grief on Unity Online Radio. He teaches Ministry at the End-of-Life at Unity Seminary. Richard has facilitated many virtual Death Cafes and Dialogues on Death and Dying. He has been a registered nurse for over 45 years, 25 of them in hospice and palliative care.

 

 

Reverand Rachel Hollander 

Reverand Rachel Hollander is a speaker, teacher, writer, performer, podcaster, singer/song-writer, officiate, and performance interpreter. Her music and message have been shared from Cleveland to New York City, San Francisco to Boise, Idaho, and – for many years – in Anchorage, Alaska. Rev Rachel was ordained as an InterFaith/InterSpiritual minister in 2009 and received her Masters Degree in Theological and Pastoral Studies in 2022. Her first book, “From There to Here: an insider’s guide to navigating the darkness” was published in 2021.

 

Dr. Eban Alexander 

Eben Alexander, MD, was an academic neurosurgeon for over 25 years, including 15 years at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School in Boston. Marci Shimoff is a #1 NY Times bestselling author, a world-renowned transformational teacher, and an expert on happiness, success and unconditional love. Amy Dawson 

Amy Dawson is the mother of three amazing adult children; two walk on Earth, and one is dancing in Heaven. Amy and her husband, Bill, divide their time between Florida and New Jersey. Before retiring, Amy was a Reading Specialist for 33 years and holds advanced degrees in Education; she is a certified Grief Coach. Amy founded My Wind Phone, created in honor of and inspired by her daughter Emily, who died at 25 on April 2, 2020. Exceptional, caring individuals have designed and installed beautiful versions of wind phones, sacred spaces for people to reflect and heal their grief. It is a place where those who grieve can continue and deepen their connection to the people they love on the other side. Amy’s mission is to spread awareness of Wind Phones and their history. Jane Asher 

Author and podcast host of The Next Room, Jane Asher takes you on a soulful journey to explore and embrace the bigger picture surrounding life on earth…and what follows. Dana Neiger 

Dana is the proud Cofounder of HIVE Talent Acquisition Firm, located in Atlanta, GA, the HR Consulting firm. Sandy Walden

An author and Master Grief coach, she describes herself as a generally very happy, optimistic person and that all of that was challenged when her youngest son, Mike took his own life in December of 2010. Robin Stegall

Robin Stegall is a certified Master Grief Coach who works with individuals, groups, and specializes in working with teenagers. She offers safe, and confidential coaching in person, through phone calls, and Zoom. Her education/experience ranges from being a certified Master Grief Coach and experience in dealing with many layers of personal grief. Those layers include losing her adult son, both parents, miscarriage, and other life struggles.

 

Lisa Wilcoxson

Sheela Jaganathan

Sheela Jaganathan is an Inner Wellbeing Coach specialising in past life and current life regression therapy based in Munich, Germany. Since 2012, Sheela has been practising mind-and-heart based therapy modalities to help seekers find clarity and closure to life challenges in a comfortable way. She is a professional member of Earth Association for Regression Therapy (EARTh) based in Holland and Spiritual Regression Therapy Association (SRTA) U.K. Sheela is also a research assistant at US-based Shared Crossing Project dedicated to positively transforming relationships to death and dying through education and raising awareness about shared crossings and their healing benefits.

 

Bevin Farrand

In 2019, after an unexpected loss just 5 days after she returned from a whirlwind trip to France with her husband, Bevin Farrand founded the Take the DAMN Chance movement. Her DAMN framework has inspired thousands to connect with the people that they love, do the “crazy thing” that makes all the difference and, when given a choice, to take the damn chance. Additionally, she is a coach that supports women in achieving their goals, even after going through deeply challenging experiences.

 

Rachel Tenpenny McGonigle

Rachel calls herself The Grief Gal. She’s a grief expert and life-after-loss coach. Helping people end the pain of grief is her passion. After her baby girls died, she promised them that she would learn how to heal her heart and share what she learned with everyone who wanted to heal too. Paige W Lee

Paige Lee is an author, grief educator, spiritual teacher, healer, and the co-founder of Transcending Grief. Her life was forever changed by grief and loss. Her 23-year-old son Bryan transitioned to Spirit in 2008, but he did not die in vain. He left behind him a legacy of love and compassion that continues to touch the lives of millions around the world. Paige and Bryan work together now, with him in spirit and her in physical, to help others transcend the pain of their grief.

Irene Weinberg

Irene Weinberg is a public speaker, author, and host of the popular podcast Grief and Rebirth: Finding the Joy in Life. Two months before, during and just after her husband died next to her in a tragic car accident, Irene received profound messages that led to a spiritual awakening and her book They Serve Bagels in Heaven.
